Follow the trail and encounter a landscape of memory. There are memories of Sabertoothed nimravids lunging at three toed horses-rhinos and mouse-deer browsing amidst a lush, moist landscape or dawn redwood, laurel, and lilac-lemur-like primates dangling from oaks and elms- a wonderful diversity of lifeforms. The memories come to us from the fossils.

Fossils are evidence of past life, preserved by geologic processes. Each specimen reveals a piece of the past,twenty-nine million years ago. Fossils represent nature's masterpieces of design for their time and for many, blueprints for life today.
